Advantages

Increased choice of product sizes increases toolmaking options.

  • The availability of Mono cutting tool products in Monoplate format optimises diamond usage.
  • Monoplate products require less processing by the toolmaker.
  • A cutting service is available for all Monoplate products.
  • Unrivalled edge quality, superior abrasion resistance and high thermal conductivity can be achieved compared to PCD.

Cutting Service

Element Six also offers a cutting service for these products. This service may be used to order Monoplates in standard cut shapes.

When ordering Monoplates on this site you will be given the opportunity to mark the cuts you require on the Monoplate before submitting your order.

 MWS

A standard product available with a usable length of 2 mm - 5.5 mm (four-point direction). The product is defined by an inscribed circle diameter of ~80% of the nominal length.

 MXP

A premium product with a size range of 3 mm - 5 mm in usable length (four-point direction). This product is defined by an inscribed square of ~75% of the nominal length .

 MT

Monocrystal Whole Stones and Monodite blanks are used for cutting tools for the machining of non-ferrous and non-metallic materials. The operation extends from superfinishing for the production of metal mirrors to the machining of high abrasive and difficult to machine materials like alumina coated wooden floor boards. Examples of other areas of applications are speciality precision knives, burnishing tools, and wear parts.

Monocrystal Whole Stones are supplied as grown with only one large face polished parallel to it's opposite face. Monodite rectangles and triangles are produced by further processing Whole Stones and have all faces cut to size.

Whole Stones and Monodite plates are oriented on the crystallographic {100} plane of diamond.

MCC 110

Element Six introduces a new premium product to the Mono range of synthetic single crystal diamond products for cutting applications. The unique combination of wear resistance, chip resistance and high thermal conductivity gives Monodite MCC 110 the ability to generate high quality surface finishes on abrasive workpiece materials.

Monodite MCC 110 is produced by a chemical vapour deposition (CVD) process from an energised mixture of hydrogen and carbon gases and is available in rectangular shapes to a maximum cutting edge length of 4.5mm.
